For years – I mean years – I planted the world’s way of thinking into my soul: my heart and my mind…
"I (The LORD) said, 'Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you." Hosea 10:12 NLT (parentheses, mine)
Yes, most certainly, I loved the Lord Jesus. Nevertheless, the stuff of the world, you know, self-seeking, appearance, possessions, and the enemy’s definition of success, captured me.
I allowed the lies of the world to rule me through media, my brokenness, even the church at times. These lies robbed me of the truth that Jesus is all I need or want; that His presence and His Word are the only fountain of life filled with significance and purpose.
Still, lies are so much easier to believe. Just read a few verses further in Hosea to see this. It takes faith to fully trust God. But oh, when we do, we harvest a crop of His lavish love that makes us whole.
Now is the time to seek the LORD. Let’s open up and let Him pour in.
